Network
Our high speed circuits to New Zealand’s public internet exchange provide a high performance path between the WebFarm data centre and your New Zealand based business.  We provide unmatched service diversity, flexibility and reliability. Our routing and switching technology is configured to ensure that the failure of a network device does not result in a complete loss of service.
 
WebFarm's network is also designed to deliver the best possible performance and reliability to your international customers. We achieve this by purchasing at least twice the bandwidth needed during our peak hours, and by maintaining circuits to multiple international transit providers.

Power supply
Rack power distribution
Conditioned power is delivered to racks by power distribution units throughout the facility. Each rack has dual 10 Amp power outlets, primary power and one redundant power supply. To protect sensitive electronic equipment, all racks are electrically bonded to each other and to special anti-static flooring fitted throughout the data centre.  

Uninterruptible power supply
The electrical system of the WebFarm data centre is powered by reliable, parallel Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) units to ensure the continuous delivery of clean and stable main power to all servers.  

Backup diesel generator
In the event of a utility power failure, WebFarm has a private diesel generator with sufficient capacity to power the data centre. The generator is rated to deliver full power 24/7 in the event of power cuts similar to those experienced in Auckland city in February 1998.

Climate
The WebFarm data centre features raised flooring and a HVAC Plenum cooling system (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) to efficiently maintain optimal temperatures and humidity.  Multiple commercial grade air conditioning units are also strategically located to ensure all servers operate well within their designed temperature range.

Fire prevention
Early fire and smoke detection ensures critical computer hardware, customer data and applications are protected from the risk of fire.  Gas Ionisation and smoke detectors are used to detect fire and smoke within the data centre. Smoke detection is incorporated under the raised floor and above the cable trays.

Security
The WebFarm data centre operates a strict security policy.  A video surveillance system and intrusion alarms are in place to monitor all activity 24 hours a day.
